Commenting on the interview with former ODA chairman, Jack Lemley, in the Idaho Statesman yesterday, Liberal Democrat Olympics Spokesperson on the London Assembly, Dee Doocey, said:
"It is essential that the legacy of the Games is planned and prepared for well in advance to ensure they remain on budget. Londoners should expect nothing less.
'I am very disappointed that Jack Lemley does not appear to have understood from the start that this job would involve politics and business at the highest level. If at the first sign of a hurdle he ran back to America with his tail between his legs, then maybe he was not the right man for the job in the first place."
