Congratulations Rio, 2016 Olympic and Paralympic host city

Commenting on the news that Rio de Janeiro have won the bid to host the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Dee Doocey AM, Chair of the Economic Development, Culture, Sport and Tourism (EDCST) Committee, said:
"Congratulations Rio de Janeiro! Winning the right to host an Olympic and Paralympic Games is both a tremendous achievement and a huge undertaking.
"We would be happy to share the experiences and lessons learned from the work we've done on preparations and legacy plans for London 2012 with Rio's Organising Committee and those scrutinising their work to help them make the most of this incredible opportunity."
